Rainbow
As tears rolled down her cheek,
she asked for a sign.
A sign that she was meant to be,
that she mattered somehow.
With her head hung low,
She continued walking down the
dirt road.
Soon, the crows flew by, cawing wildly to get her attention.
The trees rustled and bent in the breeze, as if waving for her to look their way.
She paid not mind, shuffling along, looking down at the pebbles and sticks she kicked as she walked.
Suddenly, a large gust of wind blew the scarf off her neck and carried it high into the air. As she jumped up to grab it, she nearly lost her breath.
Right there in front of her
she saw the most beautiful rainbow she’s ever seen.
A voice whispered in her ear, “The signs are all around you, my dear child, but you’ll never see them if your always looking down.”
